The Egosocue Method used at Meredith Bay Personal Fitness

Everyone has developed ways of holding themselves that are not absolutely correct.  Egoscue increases your "kinaesthtic" awareness (sense of movement and feeling) and teaches you to redirect energy in your body so that mind and body are at optimum functioning.  The Egoscue method woke up muscles that nautilus and free weights did not, because my body was not aligned correctly to activate the muscles....therefore weight training alone only reinforced bad habits.

Muscles that I was never aware of..I now have a continuous awareness of if I have done my exercises that morning.  I've never tried a method that can so quickly tone and stabilize the core muscles and promote a general sense of well being.  I enthusiastically recommend it to everyone.

If you had asked me a year ago what is the Egoscue Method I would have not have had a clue. But today I know that it has changed my life. Over the past 7 seven years I have undergone 3 surgeries on my right shoulder and seen 6 physical therapists. After many trials and tribulations none were successful. I was beginning to believe that for the rest of my life I would live with constant pain. Pain that was so great I could not longer exercise and by the end of the day I often wore a sling, which provided little relief.  As I am only 36 I felt that type of living was unacceptable. Fitness is a part of my life and I was not ready to give it up. I year ago friend recommended I go see Courtney. My friend thought my pain issues were postural related and were contributing to my shoulder pain.

Although I was skeptical I made an appointment with Courtney I was immediately impressed with her knowledge and experience and her ability to evaluate the body as a whole. I learned that my pain was a symptom of my body being out of alignment and this pain was due to my muscle imbalances.

The root of the problem began with my pelvis being out of position the then caused me to compensate with other joints and muscles changing position.

After just a few sessions with of postural therapy with Courtney I began to see things change in my body and my joints began to align little by little and my pain got better

Today I am able to run 3 miles and lift weights. I still have work to do but I am on my way to being totally pain free - thanks to Courtney. She has taught me to listen to my body and look beyond the specific pain. With Courtney’s consistency, guidance and support I have journeyed back to the life I love. It has been a long road but Postural Therapy with Courtney was the answer I was looking for.  A year ago I was ready to give up but thanks to Courtney I know I will achieve my goals.
